The Institute for Women’s Policy Research and the Women’s Research and Resource Center at Spelman College will hold an event to release the first ever Status of Women in the South report. The report addresses how women in the south fare on economic status, health, leadership, violence and safety, reproductive rights, and work/family supports, with a particular focus on women of color. The event panel will focus on economic and political power of women in the South and panelists will reflect on the pace of progress, implications of the data for varying sectors of society, and how leaders and the public can catalyze change.
