jpegIWPR Paid Family Leave Experts Dr. Heidi Hartmann and Dr. Jeff Hayes presented testimony before the D.C. city council as the council deliberates a proposed D.C. paid leave bill. The testimony highlighted IWPR’s analysis estimating that the D.C. city council’s proposed paid leave program would provide $267.4 million in benefits to covered workers and would cost $13.4 million to administer. The total $281 million for the program proposal would translate to a less than one percent (0.63 percent) tax on employers.
